Tomotherapy is an advanced type of radiation therapy. Treatment with tomotherapy generally has greater accuracy and significantly fewer side effects. To determine whether tomotherapy is beneficial or necessary for you, consultation with a radiotherapy specialist is required. The tomotherapy machine has the capability to execute the latest complex and up-to-date radiotherapy techniques (like SRS and SBRT – surgery with X-rays in the brain or body). These techniques are very precise and effective. If the dose and treatment plan are implemented correctly, they are highly beneficial. The tomotherapy machine has the ability to perform these techniques. Since Pardis Noor Niloo Center is equipped with 4D MR and combines these images with CT scan simulations, it has become possible to execute the SBRT technique on lung and liver lesions using tomotherapy.

Stereotactic techniques, when used correctly, are effective in more than 80% of cases. They generally have few side effects and are completed in a few sessions (1 to 5 sessions). In this regard, they are more comfortable for patients compared to conventional radiotherapy treatments (which can range from 10 to 35 sessions).
